Tom’s River, NJ — In a controversial move that has sparked outrage among residents, Mayor Daniel “Dictator Dan” Rodrick is weighing the privatization of the town’s garbage services following a private dinner meeting with the notorious Maserati crime family from Trenton.

During a town hall meeting last night, the mayor announced his consideration of privatization, igniting immediate backlash from community members who have relied on Tom’s River’s municipal garbage service for years. “This is just another ploy to line his pockets,” exclaimed local activist Lydia Spelling.

Sources indicate that the Maserati family, infamous for their ties to waste management and various “business ventures,” presented Dan with a “generous proposal” for taking over garbage collection if the town moves forward with privatization. Many residents are concerned that this decision could lead to higher fees, reduced service quality, and questionable business practices.

During the meeting, Dan expressed enthusiasm for the idea, stating, “This is about efficiency and modernization. Our current service has become outdated and costly. We need to look toward the future, and that future may not include city-run garbage.”

However, critics quickly pointed out that efficiency and cost-cutting often mean reduced service levels. “When the city is run by people who value profit over the community, it’s the residents who suffer,” Rhodes added.

The Maseratis, long rumored to have connections to local businesses, are no strangers to controversy. Their patriarch, “Big Tony” Maserati, has faced allegations of extortion and racketeering but has never been convicted.

Dan’s office has yet to confirm the specifics of the meeting, stating only that they are “exploring all options” to improve town services. Meanwhile, residents are organizing protests, chanting “Keep Tom’s River Clean, Not Under Mob Control!”

Local council members are also raising concerns. “We need transparency,” said a Councilwoman . “Any decision regarding public services should involve the community. We cannot allow a few backdoor deals to dictate our town’s future.”

As tensions rise, the fate of Tom’s River’s garbage services remains uncertain. Will Dictator Dan listen to his constituents, or will he push ahead with a plan that could alter the town’s landscape? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: the people of Tom’s River are ready to stand their ground.
